World's First Application To Learn Bansuri

Hi Guys,

It has been a long long time.

Today, I am here to deliver a very happy special message to all the Bansuri enthusiasts.

We have got an application on Google play store that teaches step by step how to play the Bansuri.

Yes, it is paid. It has tremendous effort being put in with great video content. It deserves to be not free.

Although I have played & practiced the basics long before, still, I have purchased the basic module of the app to start learning from the scratch.

My Guruji is none other than Shri Vivek Sonar Ji. He is one of the foremost disciples of the Grand Master of Bansuri and the God of students like us Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia Ji.

    Whenever i saw a Bansuri i always remember one song of bollywood movies Lambi Judai .
    i astonished every time i listen to this song.

    Greetings! Where are you on your journey ? I ask because I completed 36 years of my Bansuri Journey yesterday, March 13, 2026. In fact, the journey had started when I read a fantastic story by the Bengali genius, Vibhooti Bhushan Bandyopadhyaya in 1961 involving a Bansuriya. Yes, almost 65 years ago, but my desire to learn had to gestate for 29 years till the right circumstances happily came together in 1990. I am happy I never gave up my desire during 1961 - 1990 and then kept up the practice during 1990 -- 2016, and then in 2017 intensified it. I am an amateur, but I gain ecstatic levels of happiness from my Bansuri practice. Good luck to you! DKM Kartha

Bansuri The Instrument

I was thinking today to start this post in a different way. Always starting with a 'hi' or a 'hello' sounded more like an email. Isn't it?? Another dilemma haunting me was, should I post about basics of Indian classical music first or about Bansuri the instrument itself. How to Play the Bansuri??

Is it not amazing, how a small piece of bamboo, with lots of holes on it, can be used to create music so divine and peaceful?? I sometimes just cannot stop thinking about those people, and their level of intellect, who first discovered music, the notes, and all those combinations. How were they able to do it?? Who taught them?? We might not have answers to all, but, whatever it is, it is mesmerizing. Let us push the boat forward in the ocean and know the first practical lesson on Bansuri playing. I have not learned anything directly from a Guru so whatever I know, is from my own mistakes. To begin with, let us learn how to hold the Bansuri.
